If you hadn’t, observe them better when you’re watching their performance next time. In beginning anything in life, you need to take good care of your starting skill. Although in the beginning you’re not competing with anyone. But you’re competing with time that is irreplaceable and you must be prepared.

Then let me ask you: what does it take to be a ballerina or a ballet dancer?

Let’s take a look at what it takes to be a ballet dancer or ballerina.

  1. Determination: The willingness to sacrifice personal time and recreational fun for practice to perfect dancing technique is very vital. Every ballet student knows that tripping, falling and failing are part of becoming a better ballet dancer. Equally, learning the five position of the hands, feet, body and head alignment are absolutely vital in other to complete a series of ballet steps gracefully and in time to music. Having a good ear for music and been able to match music tempo to ballet steps is necessary. By the same token, a determined ballet student is the one who can understand his or her mistakes in other to correct them. In fact, it take a strong will to come up with the kind of dedicated determination which is needed to perfect ballet talent. For the starters it is very essential to pay attention to instructors during classes.
  2. Practice: There is an adage that says “practice makes perfection”. Continuous practice is important for ballet students and professionals. Advanced and professional ballet dancers often practice up to 6 hours per day before performances, apart from their rehearsal time. At least 2 hours of daily practice is essential for beginners and intermediate ballet students. With this in mind, know that if you want to become a successful ballet dancer or become a successful person in life you must be prepared. As there is simply no fast track to becoming a professional ballet dancer without hours of daily practice.
  3. Perfecting Technique to Create a Signature Style: The secret to perfecting technique to create a signature ballet style is “confidence”. In other to succeed a ballet student has to build confidence in their ability to perform, even the most difficult steps, they’ll find a natural freedom to include their own signature style to the way the steps are performed.

Lest I forget, ballet dancers or ballerina typically begin training at a very tender age. In other words, the of 7 and 8 years. It takes roughly 8 to 10 years of training to become a professional ballet dancer. Beginners attend technique class once or twice a week for the first 5 to 8 years. By the time a student is 15 years of age, such student will be taking 10 to 15 classes in a week until such student complete his or her training.

Obviously, as there is simply no fast track to becoming a professional ballet dancer or ballerina without determination and several hours of daily practice, good thing in life doesn’t come easy. You will begin well if you have deep knowledge of what you’re going into and if you’re passionate about it. You should seek the advice of those that are ahead of you in such field or area. You must understand that if you don’t makes mistakes you won’t learn something. In other words, failure is a precursor to success. You must appreciate the fact that lasting success doesn’t come unless you prepare yourself by acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge and experience. It is also important for you to visualize, analyze and know your practical advantage in everything you want to do in life and be passionate about it.
