Knowledge
One thing every child of God must have is knowledge. The Bible says in Proverbs 19:2 (Also it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge…). In other words, it is not good to be ignorant. In this article we will be dealing with why we must have knowledge.
The Psalmist says in Psalm 73:22 (I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before you). One of the things that you and I must know is that we need to know that we must have knowledge. It is written in Matthew 13:11 (He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is has not given”). It is God intention that you and I should acquire knowledge. Knowledge about life, health, relationship, living, and so on. When David was about to die, he advised his son Solomon in I Chronicles 28:9 (As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him. He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever). What David did in the Bible verse was that he emphasized the importance of knowledge to Solomon his son.
For similar reason, the Psalmist says in Psalm 56:9 (When I cry out to you, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me). He is saying that he have knowledge about God and knows what He can do for him. One of the reasons why Job couldn’t give up when he was going through difficulty, it was because he was full of knowledge. Job said in Job 5:27 (Behold, this we have searched out; it is true. Hear it and know for yourself). In Job 19:25; Job said (For I know that my Redeemer lives,…). Brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus we can now discover that in all of these places the importance of knowledge is greatly emphasized. One of the weaknesses of the people of Israel in the days of Jesus Christ was that instead of being knowledgeable they were ignorant.
The word of God says in Isaiah 1:3 (the ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know, my people do not consider). In the book of John 4:22 (You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews). The problem of the Israelites was that they were not full of knowledge as they ought to. If you want your salvation experience to be rich, to be well rooted and to be powerful don’t just be born again. You must also have the knowledge about God. It is written in 1Timothy 2:4 (who desire for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth). Jesus Christ was speaking in John 8:31–32 (Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, “if you abide in My word, you are My disciple indeed. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free”). Can you now see what knowledge does? For these reasons, it is important we have knowledge: about God, the word of God, about the kingdom of God, about prayer as well. We need a lot of knowledge. Isaiah 33:6 says (Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord His treasure).
Finally, the people of God your salvation cannot be strong, rooted and grounded when you don’t know what you need to know. One thing that every child of God must know is that you must not be ignorant. You should make sure you acquire knowledge. It is important you know God, know about the things of God and know about the the things God want you to have.
If you want anything from God, it is important you acquire knowledge about it. Whatever you want from God such as children, wealth, job, promotion, and so on.
