Strawberry is a sweet, red heart shaped fruit that is much loved for its delicious taste and nutritional benefits. Strawberry is packed with the following vitamins and minerals: vitamin C, folate, vitamin A, folic acid, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. Strawberry is low in calories, contain dietary fiber, protein and carbohydrates. Despite it name, strawberry is not berry from a botanical standpoint. It is an aggregate accessory fruit whose flesh part cannot be gotten from it ovaries. Rather each visible, seed covering outside is borne from one of the ovaries of the flower.

Vitamin C in strawberry help in strengthening the eyes cornea and retina. Our eyes needs vitamin C to protect them from the exposure to free radicals from the sun’s harsh ultraviolet rays which can damage the protein lens. Vitamin C also help in repairing the tissues in the eye.

Consumption of foods or drinks that contains excess potassium can be dangerous to people who have issues or problems with their kidneys. If the kidneys cannot remove excess potassium from the blood, it can result in hyperkalemia or high potassium levels. This can result in heart palpitations, vomiting and breathing difficulties.
